Welcome to The Plume of Feathers

A Traditional Country Pub

Plume of Feathers is above all, a traditional English country pub. Serving the local community for over 200 years as a place to relax, enjoy company and exchange news and information.

We have a hand picked selection of fine ales from the local Buttcombe brewery and always have one guest ale, and a traditional cider. A wide selection of wines are available by the glass or bottle, and our top shelf includes quality single malt whiskeys and other fine spirits.

Families Welcome

We welcome families and accompanied children. A stream runs past outside, and there is a shallow ford one hundred metres away. We have a beer garden at the rear of the pub .

We have a variety of very traditional pub games including shove ha'penny, table skittles, darts and a pool table. Please think carefully before challenging the "Old Boys" to cribbage for 50p a corner. Board games and playing cards are available on request.

Opening Times

Monday to Thursday at 5pm till 11pm.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday 12pm to 11pm.

The Food

We use only fresh ingredients in all our meals. We use local produce and suppliers wherever possible for our meat, fish and vegetables. We have a dining room that seats twenty, and additional tables are available in our bar area. English weather permitting, food may also be served in our beer garden.

Our chef shops on a daily basis, sourcing the freshest and best produce available, and only then deciding the best way to cook it. For this reason it is impossible to maintain an accurate menu of exactly what is on the blackboard today.

Dining Times

We serve lunch daily from 12pm until 2.30pm and evening meals from 6pm to 9pm Monday to Saturday and 6pm - 8pm on Sundays. Our pizza menu is available from 12pm until 2.30pm and 6pm to 9.30pm . As with all our food we use only fresh produce. Our bases and sauces are home made.

It is not ususually necessary to book during the week, however if you are a large group it is helpful to us if you do. At weekends and bank holidays we recommend you book ahead, as these times may be busy.
